Our Daily Schedule
9:45 - 10:15a | Greet Learners + Chat with Parents + Free Play
Find out if there's anything you need to know for the day (i.e. child didn't sleep well, has a diaper rash, has hit a developmental milestone, is teething, etc).
Get outside for Free Play, weather permitting (hit that fresh air quotient!)
10:15 - 10:30a | Water Break + Morning Snack* + Circle Time
Theme-based discussion, Q&A and/or book to kick off the day. Show and tell usually happens here too since they love bringing trinkets and lovies each day.
*We share our Snack Time Rhyme with Tribe families. It's easy to learn, has hand motions and thanks the earth (we all have different faiths and beliefs so this fits our North Austin Tribe and overall Philosophy
10:30a - 12:00p | Learner-Driven Play, Crafts, Games, etc
Think Montessori "stations" - have books, puzzles, water for mud, balls, blocks, craft supplies, instruments, dress-up & dramatic play items etc available for the Learners to choose from and join in with them or just be there observing them each develop Social-Emotional, Life and School-Readiness Skills through all powerful PLAY.
Also, put up the toys that don't fit the theme or that you foresee would cause sharing arguments the night before to make your day even EASIER.
12:00p - 12:30p | Water Break + Wash-up Party + Lunch + Clean-up
Each Learner comes with all the food the'll need. Hosts are not responsible for feeding anyone but their own. If there are no allergies in the Tribe, we allow peanut butter and nuts. We usually do the Snack Time Rhyme here too. #Thankfulness
We encourage each Learners to clean-up their lunch and help clear the table.
12:30 - 1:00p | Group Activity
They just ate a meal so their not only full of energy but happy so GET OUTSIDE (weather permitting) and play ACTIVELY or do Cosmic Kids Yoga, Dance Party, Simon Says, etc inside ALL TOGETHER
1:00 - 3:00p | Water Break + D.E.A.R.* Time + Naps or Quiet Time
Parents bring nap mats, blanket, pillow or the like each day. Hosts use their Children's room and/or guest bedrooms.
If a child doesn't nap then they do quiet time activities or play the Daily Challenge Game so the host can get a break.
*All ages can Drop Everything And Read - "reading" by flipping through books individually or the Host or Early Reader reads.
3:00 - 3:15p | Water Break + Afternoon Snack
Mix it up and make it a picnic (living room or outside) and/or tea party #DramaticPlay
3:15 - 3:30 | Stickers* + Clean-up
Play a clean-up song, give them tasks, clean with them and MAKE IT A GAME for best results.
*If they hit their individual goal they get to put a sticker on their 8 step Gameboard! Goals are pre-determined during the Parent Planning Skype Meeting before each 8-wk Session and each host gets an 8-step Gameboard for each kid with their goal written on it. If everyone hits their goals at the end of the Session Hosts will usually do something special (not required but FUN)
